Alex Roberts
Alex Roberts has lived in Portsmouth for four years, moving here with his wife to put down roots. His wife grew up on Aquidneck Island, and together they chose Portsmouth as the place they wanted to call home and raise their children.
That goal shapes how Alex sees the town. A place where families thrive is one with parks and playgrounds that are maintained, a library and rec programs worth showing up for, safe ways to get around, and schools the town stands behind. Those things don’t happen by accident. They happen when a council plans ahead and follows through.
Getting involved in the community led Alex to start attending Town Council meetings regularly. What he saw convinced him the town could be governed more consistently. Residents deserve a council that comes prepared, follows through, and stays focused on solving problems.
Alex is an engineer. His work is understanding complicated problems, weighing options, anticipating risks, and building solutions that hold up in the real world. He believes the same discipline belongs at Town Hall.
On the Council, Alex will focus on the fundamentals that keep Portsmouth running: maintaining our infrastructure, retaining and supporting town employees, and managing the town’s finances responsibly. Good government shouldn’t be complicated. It should be thoughtful, predictable, and accountable, not something residents should have to worry about it.
Alex is running to help make Portsmouth a town that’s well-managed today with a responsibly planned future.
