If you may not be able to vote on Tuesday, November 6, for any reason, you may go to your local Town Hall's Canvasser's Office and vote Oct. 17 to Nov. 5, during regular business hours.  You must bring a photo ID and request an, "emergency ballot."

No actual "emergency" is required.  You only need to check off the box that says you may be unable to vote on November 6.
