Emily is a marine scientist with 15 years of experience working at the local, state, federal and international levels of government, as well as in the private and non-profit sectors. Experiences working for the RI Coastal Resources Management Council and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport allowed her to focus on protecting and restoring our nation’s coastal communities and resources. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Middlebury College and an M.S. in Marine Science from College of William and Mary's Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Emily is originally from Chappaqua, New York where she attended public school. After living abroad and along the East Coast, Emily and her husband, a former Naval Officer, set down roots in Portsmouth to raise their two boys.
